For those who aren't familiar with the term "Neural Engineer": I discovered this term while working at the City College of New York under the supervision of Prof. Jacek Dmochowski, and I found it aptly describes my profile.
Neural: I hold a PhD in Neuroscience, specialized in Human electrophysilogy, notably intracerebral (invasive) and surface (non-invasive) electroencephalography. My Doctoral research was done at the Hopital Central de Nancy under the supervision of Dr. Laurent Koessler and Dr. Louise Tyvaert. You can find my doctoral work here (the first 25 pages are a summary in French, but the rest is in English). I did a postdoc at Weill Cornell Medicine | New York Presbyterian under the supervision of Dr. Sudhin A. Shah in Brain Stimulation and Brain Computer Interface.
Engineer: I have a:
1. French Culture:
It comes from a French expression "Système D" for "Système débrouille," which is a significant part of French culture. It means that when facing challenges, you can devise a solution with only the few resources available to you.
As a former military (Gendarme), I heard and applied this term A LOT! If "Système D" were a fictional character, it would be MacGyver.
